This was shot on a very happy day in Paris, on Rue Saint Lazare to be specific.
But since this post is about four months late, the photos sadly have nothing to do with what I'm going to write about. Let's awaken the Carrie Bradshaw in me (my role model forever and always) and start writing again.

I read an article recently about a Korean word called "nunchi". Meaning: Nunchi is the ability to subtly, but incisively gauge the mood of the people around you. Having it -or not having it, determines how graciously one moves through life.

Nunchi is translated into English as "emotional intelligence". And in my personal opinion, having the ability to read one's emotions is the quality only the nicest of people possess.

In our world being pretty is considered hard, but actually, it's pretty easy. The way I look when I wake up in the morning has nothing to do with the majority of the photos I post on Instagram. Well, to be completely honest it has nothing to do with any of the photos posted on my Instagram. That is thanks to the big stuffed item in my room called the closet and thanks to many appliances that take up all the room in my bathroom.

The hard thing is to be nice. Especially to the ones that are rude to you.

My belief is, that people do rude things out of their own pain. And pain is inevitable. We can feel it because of countless different things, actions or people.

To me, having "nunchi" means also to always consider the background of the words that hurt you. To be conscious of the fact that we are made out of so many emotions and memories, that sometimes we can hide under the ones that make us feel safe. And when someone hurts us, the easy way out is to freak out, be mad and yell (guilty). But what about stepping a few steps back and looking at the whole picture? Not so easy.

"Nunchi" in my vocabulary translates to not burdening yourself with the actions of other people because you're present in the situation. Forgiving those, who don't seek forgiveness is the best remedy for your overthinking problem (if you have one that is - like I do lol).

I keep forgetting my Noora mantra:
"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."

So this is a reminder, to incorporate more Nunchi in my life. To be more aware of people and why they do what they do. To respect the pain and the happiness that made them and to not weigh down their path just because I find mine more difficult to walk on.

I have a new agreement with a friend. Every time I say something rude about someone I have to immediately think about 5 nice things about them. I have to say it's been pretty hard because lately, I've just been mad at everyone about everything, but it's slowly starting to work.

So I challenge you to do the same. Say something nice about the shi**y people in your life (had to say it), and I promise you that YOU will feel better. Have more Nunchi, and I guarantee you will move more graciously through life.

A lot of hugs and positive thoughts.
