TRENCH NINA SUSMELJ
After a much needed relaxing Sunday, my face once again looks like the one from the upper photo.
Ljubljana Fashion Week day two outfit recap is upon us, and reliving this outfit honestly keeps me motivated to continue working in fashion. The creations and pieces I wore are not just gorgeous on the outside, they are also gorgeous on the inside (read as “they mean a lot to me”). So without further ado, let’s dive into the trench dream that is Nina Susmelj’s design.
I will proudly forever call myself a trench lover. Any shape, length or colour you got me. As my blog name itself says, I find mainstream chic to be my type of style. But mainstream pieces with a spin have a special place in my heart. This design is a crazy classic, meaning it’s a piece everyone owns, but a piece no one owns. It’s uniqueness and gorgeousness convinced me, that all you need for a good outfit is a talented friend and little imagination.
Nina was too kind to come over and help me choose an outfit for day two of LJFW. While chatting about fashion, work and so much more I was trying on this piece that honestly stole my heart a long time ago on her Instagram page (click here). While we were brainstorming on how I should wear it I mistakenly buttoned it the “wrong” way, and after a quick laugh we realized that we actually love the look. It represented the diversity of her design and showcased the beautiful details that were carefully incorporated (the back, the belt & the sleeves). It’s rare that you find a person who inspires you and at the same time totally gets you, and it’s even more rare to find all that in a talented designer and stylist. But somehow I managed to find all that and more in Nina. So thank you again, for trusting me with this piece, that screamed my name and got an incredible amount of compliments.
As if the trench itself wasn’t a “jaw dropper”, Nina also helped me with the rest of the styling. We were going for an edgy and trendy vibe. And as a proud Mass ambasador it felt only right to pick a shoe, that would represent two things. The love I have for the brand and the craziness to complete my outfit. We both agreed on this pair immediately, and on how I should style it. Everything clicked instantly, and even though I was standing out, I never felt more “at ease” with an outfit.
So a big thank you to Mass Shoes also, for making me a part of their family and for helping me out as a blogger from the very beginning! Their show was a special and proud moment for me, and being able to work with a designer that I love and a brand that I love made LJFW day two a very very special one.
